A Global Approach to Science

The Weizmann Institute is an organization built on more than 60 years of research and discovery. Working with scientists and scholars throughout the world, it promotes collaboration between both scientists and areas of study (such as nanotechnology and biology) as a way to learn and innovate. We too see collaboration as a fundamental part of the cross-disciplinary process. So when the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science—a community dedicated to advancing the Institute’s goals—approached us to help them tell their story, we were eager to help.

We set out to convey the Weizmann Institute’s global impact by demonstrating how its scientific breakthroughs have bettered the world—and how its unique approach makes such advancements possible. We brought the scientists to the forefront, showing how their research benefits all corners of the Earth. We also offered various ways to explore—an interactive map, a grid of achievements, tag clouds, rich imagery, etc. The experiential navigation goes beyond the lab.

Speaking to current and prospective donors, we built factual information and science-oriented articles into a rich setting, one that connects with the audience emotionally. We created personas of various donors, referencing them throughout strategic development. Our goal was to both encourage donations and plant the seeds for building relationships. Visitors should feel as though they can become a part of the Institute—not only through donations, but also by informing and persuading others to get involved.

By providing a narrative for the in-depth and ongoing efforts of the American Committee, we were able to provide an experience that accurately reflects the global understanding with which the organization approaches its work.
