BIG SPACESHIP
An Online Overhaul
Greetings friends. The look of our Spring newsletter is a reflection of our newly redesigned website. If you haven't been to bigspaceship.com recently, have a gander.
Exposing R&D
Experimentation is the root of innovation. Recently, we’ve been sharing many of our experiments with the world—not just for your enjoyment (though we hope you enjoy them), but so that we can put some of our thoughts to the test, share our ideas in a tangible way and learn from your feedback.

Two recent releases from the Lab: In January, we launched Pretty Loaded, a digital museum that preserves and celebrates the preloader, the fundamental but fleeting ephemeron. Until now, it has never received the honor due. Last month, we created Qapture, a device that aims to solve one of Twitter’s challenges: it’s hard to keep up with ever-scrolling tweets, much less go back and find those links you really like. With Qapture, we identify and follow key individuals in certain categories and share their links, ranking their popularity.

There are other experiments on the way, so stay tuned.

Preparing for
Disaster
The mission of the Institute for Human Continuity (IHC) is a substantial one: To ensure the survival of the human race beyond the year 2012—that’s when the organization believes catastrophic forces will destroy much of our planet.

We helped the IHC communicate both the scientific research and cultural studies that have shaped their beliefs. We then transformed their predictions into interactive disaster scenarios to help ready you for what is decidedly an indefinite future.

Man vs. Machine
John Connor’s stern voice greets you as you survey the battle-torn, post-apocalyptic landscape. Which side will you fight for?

Sony Pictures asked us for a real-time multiplayer game to promote the international release of Terminator Salvation. Building the most robust version yet of our multiplayer gaming engine, we developed a casual game for hardcore gamers, awash with explosive, real-time action.

A Brand Is Born
Healthy, flavorful foods are at the heart of ChowBaby. When introducing this new company online, we conveyed ChowBaby as not only a product, but also an expert in the complicated world of feeding little ones. Company founders Stacie Billis and Michelle Christman were particularly excited about the community aspect of the experience, which underscores their ChowMama blog.
